We Do Not Own Our Successes...God Does!

Recently, God opened another door for me to share the message He has sown in my heart. My desire is for more people to come to know Him as the sweet lover, the amazing healer, and the awesome friend that He is, as well as for more to taste and see His freedom! What I see Him do in my office day after day is amazing, and it’s my passion for more people to receive that. This past week, I travelled to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to be interviewed on Real Life, a show televised on Cornerstone Network (a Christian television network). We discussed marriage, and my book, The Perfecting Storm. It was great fun and an awesome opportunity to share God's hope, healing, and love.

After accepting this interview invitation, I debated, “Do I share this with others? Do I ask them to join me in prayer for this? Is the asking selfish?” (It’s always good to check our heart motivations.) As I prayed and pondered, I realized that I could not be where I am or have this door opened without the "others." In my private time, I spent countless hours with The Lord praying, petitioning, seeking, and submitting to His ways and will as I presented my heart’s desire to Him.

“Lord, I’m only one person! I need more ways to share your healing.

Show me Lord”

I also spent countless hours talking and praying with friends and colleagues regarding this desire. And even more “others” have prayed, petitioned, and sown into the dream right along with me. Every person I've had the privilege to minister to, to counsel with, to pray with, to talk with, or speak to has been part of this. Each person....all of them, was part of that open door and stepped through it with me. When I succeed in my destiny with God, others succeed with me! We are in this together! What affects me, affects my “family” in Christ. If God can do it through me, He can do it through you. We are all on the same team! Our successes are not our own, first and foremost they are God's. They are also beacons of light which light the way for others. We all play a part in each other's successes. Like the church in the book of Acts, what is mine is yours and what is yours is mine! We are all one Body working together. We all have different parts to play—no one part is more or less significant—all are significant to our Father!

Thank you—"others"—who have sown in with me!

I pray I am paying it forward.

"The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don’t, the parts we see and the parts we don’t. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance."

1 Corinthians 12:25-26
